My start in photography was in 2010 when I got my first DSLR. But I have always had a passion for art for as long as I can remember. Through my childhood; whether it was painting or drawing. I had always taken art classes through school. In high school art we had a photography assignment. Using basic cameras and developing black and white film in the dark room was my first true experience with photography. With everything being digital now, I'm glad I had the opportunity to work with film and develop my own prints. When I went to college I took a graphic design course. College gave me a good background in design, layout and using programs like Photoshop, that I use with my photography every day. Since then I have improved on what I learned in my graphic design course, Tailored more towards my Photography. |
I have always enjoyed Landscape photography. Something about being out in nature, usually at times of the day when other people are still in bed. whether getting up before the sunrise, or being up in the middle of the night to capture the stars, capturing those awesome moments has always been a favorite thing for me to do. After a while though, I learned a lot about flash photography. I picked up two flashes along with some light modifiers and started practicing. I started taking portraits and self portraits to hone my skills with off camera lights. I started using them more and more on shoots with bands. Eventually I started to do real estate and architectural photography; where I could use my off camera lighting along with my skills in Landscape photography together. Getting the perfect composition to show a space and then using off camera lights strategically placed to get the perfect lighting.
